Local Food Pantries
As uncomfortable as it is to admit that people in our own community go hungry each day, we can’t ignore this fact. People that never thought they would need to rely on donations are flooding food banks and aid agencies for help. And while poverty is a complex problem with many layers of cause and effect, the bottom line is that our neighbors need our help.
After exhaustive research, Mike Staff Productions has concluded that the best way for us to help is through small, local, volunteer run food pantries. Inspired by Michelle Chevatewa, our Director of Operations, who co-founded the Fitz Food Pantry in Warren … we learned the power of staying local. The kind-hearted and concerned people that run local pantries intimately know the needs of the people they serve … making their impact that much greater.
Each month, Mike Staff Productions delivers food to different Metro Detroit area and Northern Michigan food pantries. Please check out our blog for updates and to meet the incredible people who are making a huge difference by their work running these organizations.
