Popular Wedding Business Helps Others be Generous this Holiday Season

If you were handed $500 to give away to someone in need, how would you do it? That’s the question a Troy based wedding services company, Mike Staff Productions, is asking. It’s called the Mike Staff Productions’ “Heart to Serve” Challenge.

“In this tough economy, charitable giving is down significantly throughout Metro Detroit”, says company founder and former 101-FM WRIF DJ, Mike Staff. “People want to help others but may not have the resources to help this year. That’s where we come in”.

Here’s how it works: Mike Staff Productions is directing people to their Facebook fan page and asking them to share how they would help others if they were handed $500. On Monday, December 12th the best 5 submissions will be awarded $500 each to fund their desire to serve.

“Deep down I think we’re all created with a heart to serve others, and Mike Staff Productions wanted to give people a cool opportunity to experience the “high” of helping others”, says Staff.

One of the core values of Mike Staff Productions has always been to share 10% of their profits to serve their community and the world around them. They’ve done this by supporting various charities, including Hope Closet, Family Youth Interventions, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Great Lakes Burn Camp and a large portion going to help local food banks. They also support a school feeding program in Haiti, a destination Staff visits yearly to help serve children of the impoverished nation.

“Serving others is in our company’s DNA”, Staff says. “Our team has such a good time serving the community; we thought we’d give people who might not have the money to give a chance to get in on the fun, too”.

A Mike Staff Productions video crew will follow each of the winners as they use the $500 award to serve others, and then share the experiences on the Mike Staff Productions Facebook fan page.

Mike Staff Productions has been in business since 1986 and provides professional wedding DJs, Photographers & HD Videography to couples throughout Metro Detroit and Michigan.

Mike Staff was an on-air personality on 101-FM WRIF for 14 years, from 1992 - 2006.
